Cleopatra Bust
Cleopatra was the last pharaoh of Egypt. She was both beautiful and extremely intelligent. During her reign, Egypt enjoyed peace and prosperity. At the same time, Rome was quickly becoming a superpower. Cleopatra had romantic affairs with two Roman rulers, Julius Caesar and Marc Antony, and had children with both of them. After Caesar was assassinated, Marc Antony formed an alliance with two men, Lepidus and Octavian. They wanted to get revenge. However, Octavian turned against the other men and had them both killed. His next plan was to capture Cleopatra and parade her through the streets of Rome. Cleopatra allowed a poisonous snake to bite her so that she wouldn’t have to face such humiliation. Octavian then took control of Egypt and it became part of the Roman Empire.
