Ushabti
Dead people were provided with small model servants who would look after them in the afterlife. These model servants are called ushabti. It was believed that these servants would provide them with food, look after animals and grow crops in the next world with their master. Some Egyptians were buried with 365 ushabti, one for each day of the year. Furthermore, during the time of important festivals, relatives of the dead person came into the tomb and left real food such as meat, bread and fruit.
